Interior Painting Season is here!

November 12, 2024

It’s that time of the year when the leaves start changing, falling and the weather starts turning.

A time for crockpot meals, warm fires, scenic drives and festivities.

Along with this special time of the year as we transition into fall and winter and the upcoming holidays, it’s also a great time to take advantage of those interior projects you just didn’t get a chance to complete during the heat of summer.

Transforming the interior of your home with a change of color and re-arrangement of decor can make a house feel like an entirely different place… renewed, clean, different.

Perhaps you have an office space and need a color that sparks creativity or clarity.

A bedroom with bland walls and no personality? Not to fear… maybe a touch of some earthy or calming colors to help you experience the calmness you need for retreat and a good nights rest.

Have kids that have destroyed your trim and doors? (We do too..) the good thing is along with walls and ceilings that can be repainted, we also offer trim packages.

It’s important when choosing colors to ensure the color scheme pair together, and this is why we offer assistance with color matching or color design choices.

With 18+ years experience Scott and Three Rivers Painting will provide samples and color selections to ensure you stand behind your color choice before the project begins (after all, repainting the entire house can be a big project to undertake)

So as we head into the colder months of this winter season, enjoy the special time with the upcoming holidays and remember there is no better time than now to schedule your next free estimate for your interior painting project.

From wall, ceilings, trim packages and cabinets let Three Rivers Painting transform your home into something new you envisioned.

From numerous 5 star reviews across various platforms, clientele and several years of business, this is what we specialize in, so let us complete it with efficiency and quality for you to have peace of mind.

Often times, I have clients ask how often they should have their deck or fence stained. The short answer: Most manufacturers will state every 1-3 years for decks that are in direct sunlight or take a beating from the elements with the seasonal states across the US. If there is a side of the deck or house that’s more shaded or protected by a pergola than those areas in direct sun, these areas may be able to withstand 5-7 years before needing to be stained again. Overall, when it comes to stains and projects, every project is unique and different, and if you are unsure, you should consult a professional painter that has experience in working with stains on homes, decks and fences as well. For those more inexperienced, the risk of uneven application, or incorrect application techniques could leave you with a lackluster finish, not only being unpleasant to the eye, but compromising the longevity of the entire staining project. As with any painted house or deck that’s been stained, you’ve probably noticed over time how certain sides of a house or portions of a deck may be weathered more severely. Usually, the appearance is that of a washed out lighter color, water stained, or even exhibiting peeled areas of paint or oxidated appearances showing that chalky look that won’t go away even with a good pressure wash job without use of strong chemicals. These above are all indications that the life of your paint or stain is nearing its end, and it’s time to perform another adequate application to preserve the wood, and the appearance of your most important asset, your home! With painting projects, there is a greater amount of UV protection upon application, which ultimately prolongs the life of your coating application in comparison to oil based transparent or semi transparent stains that still show the characteristics of the wood. The plus side to stains is they give homes character and aesthetic appeal. Nothing looks more beautiful than an accented beautifully oil stained fence or deck, or accented stained cedar shakes above some freshly painted siding. There are pros and cons for any type of stain you will use, such as a solid based stain vs a transparent or semi transparent stain and every scenario merits the use of one over the other. If you are unsure which type of stain to use for your next project or not quite ready to tackle the entire project yourself, consider hiring professionals such as Three Rivers Painting, who specialize in stain applications on both siding, decks and fences to leave you with a seamless customer experience and top quality finish. Hope to see you out there during the exterior season..

As homeowners, sometimes the tasks seem never ending, and can run into costly upgrades and repairs. If you are contemplating having a full exterior painting or inte rior painting project completed but unsure whether to fully commit to the entire project consider the alternative of partial painting projects. Perhaps instead of having every room walls and ceilings, trim and doors repainted your simply looking for a color update on the walls and ceilings in one room. On the exterior, refinishing a deck or fence staining can bring vibrant life to your property and really make that decking or fence stand out as an aesthetic piece of your property. In the summertime, that hot sun can do a number on the facia trim boards with UV color fading or peeling paint on the body of the house as well. In these scenarios, some homeowners may opt to simply have one side of the house repainted for the season, or even just a garage door, front door or porch area stained. The only fair warning is homeowners often see how new and fresh their painted room or side of house look, and it sparks inspiration to continue the project! So fair warning, there are cost conscious ways to pick away at portions of your house one room at a time or side of the house, but you may end up just hiring Three Rivers Painting to complete the whole project shortly thereafter with the visible upgrade and results! Living in a seasonal state or area such as the Pacific Northwest and Central Oregon have the wonders of wintertime to enjoy that come with the change of seasons here. With this winter season and the holidays filling our schedules, it is a time of relaxation, reflection and quality time to be had with our loved ones and families. With this time, it is also the perfect time to hire your painting contractor. Having your interior painting completed will bring life and character to your special place you call home. Whether you are contemplating for walls, ceilings, trim, doors, cabinet refinishing or even a full interior repainting project, winter time is the perfect season to undertake these tasks. A good friend and mentor to the painting industry: Nick Slavik, once said as contractors, we have 2 seasons.. busy and extremely busy. Right now we are in the busy season, and although the workflow is consistent it’s manageable. When spring and exterior season arrive, the call volume substantially increases as that beautiful sunshine spurs everyone into action. It’s a reminder as we see the transition of seasons to homeowners of that much needed color update, peeling paint on hard to reach areas or even addressing that gray or tired looking deck or fence. As a seasoned contractor and painter with almost 2 decades of experience, my recommendation is to not wait to get your next interior project completed. Take advantage of the “manageable season” to schedule your next interior project, ultimately freeing your time and checklist of tasks to complete once spring arrives. See you next project, Scott

When considering a painter or painting company for your next interior painting project, it is important to consider aspects such as reputation, experiences, reviews and examples of work. With that said, we also understand with many homeowners price is another element to consider. So let’s dive into a quick rundown on approximate costs you can expect to pay for a quality painting company to complete your next interior painting project in Bend, Oregon and surrounding areas. As with any painting project, the scope of work can adjust pricing up or down depending on the amount of prep work required, ease of access for walls, ceilings, trim and or doors etc. Will the furniture be moved and wall fixtures removed prior to your painting company arriving? Things such as having a free and clear space to work reduces the amount of labor involved to you as a homeowner if possible in advance to your painting company arriving. For the average residential home to be painted here are some prices that are typical to expect: Just walls being repainted - $4 - 6,000 Walls and ceilings one color - $5 - 7,000 Walls and ceilings with separate colors - $6 - $10,000 Trim, Doors, Walls & Ceilings - $12,000 - $20,000 Trim and doors although not as much space to paint, is time consuming due to the intricacies and detail involved, sometimes the prep is even greater than walls or ceilings with cleaning, caulking, sanding etc so often times this can even double the cost of your project. With that said, having a full interior repaint with trim and doors ensures you have a fresh and clean new living space and we have had many happy clients who rave about the finished product of doing a full interior repaint. It is important to ensure the scope of work and payment terms are defined and clear with your painter or painting company, as this reduces the chances of ambiguity with the project or unsatisfactory results. After all, when you’re paying your hard earned money as a homeowner to a painting contractor, who wouldn’t want anything less than a quality finish? If you found this article helpful, and are interested in an interior painting quote for your next project, send us a message on our “contact us” or “get quote” sections of our site, and we are happy to provide a virtual or in person consultation and proposal.
